Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays 2010!
Our family has had a grand and eventful 365 days. This year has been full of changes—mostly good and exciting.
Brandt is a full-on grown up boy at nine years old who enjoys football, basketball, karate, and battling his friends with Nerf swords and axes. He also loves riding his bike and skateboard and plays from morning until night each and every day. Brandt is full of fun and has some awesome ninja-skills.
12 year old, Raina loves her singing and piano lessons and has had some lovely recital performances. This summer she sang a solo at the Broadway Review and knocked our socks off with a rendition from Les Miserables, “Castle on a Cloud”. She absolutely loves Young Women’s and has almost completed everything for her award. At South Sevier Middle School, she was honored as the student of the month for October and she is on the high honor roll.
Aubree, who is 15, completed her Young Women’s award in February and is working on her Honor Bee. She did fantastic at our county fair and won a huge ribbon, Judges Choice, for her scrumptious bread. She is a freshman at South Sevier High School, is doing tremendously well and is on the high honor roll. She also loves speech and debate, art, 4-H Ambassadors, and friends.
Talon is our senior this year. He is taking a full load of college courses, involved in speech and debate, Seminary Council, Madrigal Choir, Governor’s Youth Council, Monroe City Youth Council, 4-H Ambassadors, National Honor Society, and is working as a tutor at the Navajo Indian Dorms. What more could you ask from a 17 year old kid? Well, he also earned is Eagle Scout, went to Boys State where he was elected as a State Senator and Boys Nation Alternate, and volunteers every Monday tutoring under privileged kids. Yes, he’s golden, but unfortunately hasn’t learned the skills of keeping a clean room, so heaven help his future college roommates and missionary companions.
Laura has a new avocation which she thoroughly loves. She is teaching for an online academy and meets her students each session in a virtual classroom. It has been challenging and exhilarating at the same time. She continues as a 4-H volunteer and mentors a Shakespeare class after school. Relief Society has become a part of her life as a member of the presidency which is also challenging but rewarding. Plus, it must be written in the stars somewhere that her calling in life was to create Christmas programs because another one is under her belt with this being the 5th she has written and produced within the past 8 years of living here in Monroe.
Chad has had some changes in his work and is the new supervisor for Central Utah Counseling Center in Richfield. He received another assignment with the UARNG and has just recently been transferred to the 145th Artillery Battalion where he is the Executive Officer. After running another marathon, this time on his 43rd birthday, he is now focused on finishing up projects around the house and planning a trip for Laura and his 22nd year anniversary in August. (That last part may not be true, but I’m trying to use my powers of suggestion to subliminally influence him.)
We send you all our love and best wishes! The Williams Family
