Riding the Ely Ghost Train was a memorable event and to make it more memorable was the fact that it was Memorial Day Weekend.
We had a lovely journey over the mountain in the antique steam-powered train. It chugged us along and we were able to see copper mines, graveyards, and more of the Great Basin Desert. The idiom "wrong side of the tracks" came to be understood on the literal level...because as I was taking some photo's, I received a mouthful of cinder and ash as the train spewed forth it's debris. Brandt also suspects that he saw some hobo's waiting to jump on as we passed by culverts.
